Hope the engines are not exact replicas. From what I've read, the original Titanic's engines were not powerful enough and the props were too small. Not enough maneuverability to get out the way of icebergs.

Is it disrespectful to call God by his name?
by BU2B inthis seems to me to be yet another flawed reasoning from the wt.
god is supposed to be jw's "father".
it always seemed a bit strange even when i was mentally in, the argument they used to support using the name jehovah.

I don't believe the Bible god exists, but if he did, I would call him "Snuggles."
It suits his selfish, jealous, vengeful, and murderous personality described in the Bible.

At JW.Org, for kids, a connect the dots coloring page of Lot's wife turning into salt.
by Theocratic Sedition inhttp://www.jw.org/en/bible-teachings/family/children/picture-activities/lots-wife-becomes-salt/.
is it me or is this kinda sick?
i mean i can understand learning from the account, but this is kinda deviant.

Connect the dots. How adorable. Dub parents can proudly display the child's handiwork on the fridge, right next to the child's other drawings of scenes of agony and death.
If a child produced a drawing like this at school, he/she would immediately be scheduled for psychological testing, and the parents would be called in for a conference to discuss treatment options for their child's sadistic tendencies.

Forum Owner and Member Integrity
by Simon insome people recently raised concerns about security of the site relating to whether forum members could be watchtower plants trying to obtain information about people.
apparently, this was because a previous forum that was setup was either owned by or later handed over to someone who used it to collect personal information about people which was then used to harrass them.
i don't know all the details, i'm just paraphrasing what i've heard and recognize that it's a concern to some people.. i want to first of all put people's minds at rest: i've been running this site for what will be 13 years next month.

RELIGULOUS...Please watch it.
by Fed-up ini know it's been commented on before here.
if you haven't seen it (i'm sure it's on netflix) please take a look.
it's the other side of the coin, presented in a funny way that really makes you think about religion and worship.

Meanspirited and unfunny.
And I'm an atheist.

"It is so obvious to someone just doing a cursory study of the Bible that they simply have no idea of how to read and understand it, let alone any real insight"
by WildeLover inin another thread phizzy made an interesting point.
it is so obvious to someone just doing a cursory study of the bible that they simply have no idea of how to read and understand it, let alone any real insight.. .
i am curious as to some simple yet strong points the wbtrash socierty have so very obviouslsy and clearly oten wrong?.

WildeLover: "... the WBTrash society have a comeback for every "error" that could be pointed out is there anything that simply dont have a smart-alec answer for?
Six years ago an articulate dub named ThirdWitness started a few threads. For every "comeback" he attempted on the WTS/UN scandal, child abuse, and the FDS, he was thoroughly and completely thrashed by the best minds on this board.
Look ThirdWitness up and read about how to silence a dub.

Elders- Have any of You faded Because of participating in a JC where the Arguments from the accused made sense to you?
by truthlover ini know the question is long, but it has occured to me that there are a lot of newbies here but before that, many ex elders, some co and do's that are no longer jw's.... did the publishers comments at a jc about the misconceptions, dates, and lack of holy spirit, etc.
make sense to you and did you start thinking about the failed prophecies, fudging the "new light" etc.
which caused you to slowly fade away.. .

wha happened: " Well since the WT has a package for elders dealing with court appearances such as child custody, then perhaps a package of scriptures and reasoning should also be prepared for those called into a JC. "
A handy-dandy guidebook for JC victims. There's an idea.

This is a great question because so many posters on the verge of leaving the dubs ask this board what they should say at their JC.
The prevailing answer is that they should avoid the JC altogether because trying to reason with kangaroos at a kangaroo court is pointless and only draws out the misery for the one subjected to it.
If speaking out at a JC actually makes a difference, the responses to this thread may change that thinking.

Transfusions and Thievery Whaaaat?

That's the most stupid SODDI (Some Other Dude Done It) defense I've ever heard.
The other dude's blood will no doubt make it easier for him to serve time.
